Install 12th Man

About two minutes. The app is free. It isn't verified by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to allow it once. After that it opens normally.

Seven overs to the notch
  1. Download. Download for Mac (free)
You get a file called 12thMan-0.1.0.zip in your Downloads folder.
  2. Unzip it. Double-click the zip. You now have 12th Man (the app) next to it. Safari sometimes unzips it for you, so you may already see the app.
  3. Drag it to Applications first. Open a Finder window, click Applications in the sidebar, and drag 12th Man into it. Do this before opening it. An app opened straight from Downloads can misbehave.
  4. Open it. In Applications, double-click 12th Man.
  5. macOS will stop it the first time. You'll see a message like "12th Man" Not Opened saying Apple could not verify it is free of malware. Click Done — never “Move to Bin” / “Move to Trash”.
  6. Allow it in System Settings. Open the Apple menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security. Scroll down to the Security section. Next to "12th Man" was blocked to protect your Mac, click Open Anyway. Enter your Mac password or use Touch ID if asked.
This is the same on macOS 15 (Sequoia) and macOS 26. The old right-click → Open shortcut no longer works on these versions.
  7. Confirm. macOS asks once more. Click Open Anyway. The score pill appears at the top of your screen, by the notch. From now on it opens like any other app.

If your company Mac blocks it

Some work Macs are managed by an IT team and don't show Open Anyway, or refuse to open apps that aren't verified by Apple. There's no way round that from our side, and please don't try to get round your company's rules.

That's why the app is free to try: check it opens on your Mac before you buy anything. If you bought 12th Man Pro and the app won't open on your Mac, email us for a refund.

Check the download (optional)

To make sure the file you downloaded is exactly the one we published, compare its SHA-256 fingerprint. Open Terminal (in Applications → Utilities) and type shasum -a 256 followed by a space, then drag the zip from Downloads into the Terminal window and press Return:

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/12thMan-0.1.0.zip

The long string of letters and numbers it prints should match the published fingerprint exactly:

See 12thMan-0.1.0.zip.sha256

If Safari already unzipped it and the zip is gone, download it with another browser to check. If they don't match, delete the file and download it again from this site only.

12th Man is not affiliated with any cricket board or team.
